If you don't have a large budget, and need to get listed fast, get linked on sites that come up high in the listings and you will then appear !.
A good linking strategy is important in any case as search engines rate companies higher in their listings if they are linked to from other popular sites.
B: Think about Pay Per Click (PPC)
This will give you instant results and get you to the top of the search engine results. One effective solution is 'adwords' from Google
You decide when your advertisement appears from a search term - like 'business plan' for our example. You can simply pay to display your ad one thousand times and hope people click through to your site or pay per each click through. You design your ad and manage everything online.
However, it's easy to spend a lot of money without getting any return so follow these tips:
- Set a daily budget
- Have different ads targeting different keywords
- Put your keyword in your ad title and in the text
- Ensure your landing page has the keyword in the title and text
- Don't have a specific ad and send the visitor to your home page - this was not what they were searching for
- When you have found an ad with a high click through rate (CTR) rinse and repeat the process for other ads
Lastly, don't use an agency that submits to 3,000 search engines. You may be blacklisted from the major search engines and the others are not worth being on.
